Today's Words Of Glass

At first she wasn't my favorite - we have 3 (dogs). And when I met Sally, I wasn't sure how to approach her because it took her awhile to warm up to me. She kept her distance, even growled a time or two, but she was Hubby's baby. And in time, she became part of my family too. And I learned to understand her, and love her. We buried her this week. It was a gut wrenching family burial where Hubby wrapped her in an old family blanket that we brought home from Texas, placed her in front of Shorty ( her life-long partner ) and let him tell her good-bye. And he did. I've never watched a dog tell another dog good-bye before. But he looked her over, smelled her over, looked her in the face , and then stepped back for Hubby to take her. My heart was broken as I watched him. It was almost more than I could take. Hubby gently cradled Sally's body where he then buried her along with Lil Man's help.

All stories have a beginning - but they are just that - a beginning - not the end.  I don't think anyone has a 'perfect' childhood. I don't even know what a perfect childhood would even be?  But this I know - beginnings whether awesome or difficult help mold the person you become, but they don't have to define you. People overcome tragedies, and people who have had an 'easy' life can still wind up in horrible situations.  I think it comes down to how you handle and process the difficult and wonderful situations in life.  Personally, I was born in TN and grew up in MS. ( Please do NOT cue the banjo music - it was nothing like that )

So, my last post was several months back stating that this blog is still active, but I'm doing the majority of my writing on my blog Will Run For Ice Cream , and as a contributor to Moms Magazine. This is true. However, I feel to re-organize and revamp this blog. If you've noticed, I've changed the title to Today's Words Of Glass. It makes it more coherent with the blog address in addition to my facebook  page . My last name is Glass, and it's a play on words. But there is also a deeper meaning....

I'm still around, and this blog is still active! I've just been doing the majority of my writing on my blog Will Run For Ice Cream . But I am also now a contributor to Moms Magazine , and you can find several articles ther e. So please take a moment to read my lastest articles there.

I have always been someone who goes through a lot of printer paper. And now that Lil Man is older, I think I'm using even more. There are tons of printouts for activities, and I'm finding myself printing more and more.  Thankfully, I've come across HP's EcoFFICIENT Paper  from Sho plet.com .  When I heard about EcoFFicient paper, I wasn't really sure about the quality. I expected the paper to be super thin and basically see-through.

So I often have a had time falling asleep, and then staying asleep. The smallest noises wake me up. So I sleep with a sound machine. But when I travel, that doesn't always work for me. And yes, I have an app on my phone. But, Hubby complains because he prefers not to hear ocean waves. I know, ridiculous right? Who doesn't like to hear the ocean? :) So I introduce to you... the  Bedphones Sleep Headphones . Could this be a solution to my problem? I think it just might be.

I don't know about you and your house, but in our house the more glassware the better. It always seems like I am always looking for a clean glass. Maybe that shows I need to be a little better with washing the dishes? :-) But when I saw these cute stylish glasses - the  Curva Artisan Series , I knew that I just had to give them a try. I love that they are double insulated. I usually use a cup when I am drinking hot liquids because there is a handle. Otherwise simply just holding the cup my hands get too hot. But the curva double insulated glasses can be used for both hot and cold drinks. And as odd as it may seem I loved drinking my coffee this morning from this stylish glass.
